Motor Vehicle Accidents

If you’ve been injured in a Motor Vehicle Accident, please call us immediately for assistance.  There is a time-sensitive protocol in place to ensure you receive the care you need.  Regardless of fault, you will be given a minimum of 11 therapeutic visits to ensure you are feeling better quickly.

Important notes about the Motor Vehicle Accident/Injury Protocol in Alberta:

  1. You must see a Medical Doctor, Chiropractor or Physiotherapist within 10 days of the accident.  Have them fill out the AB-1 form, which you will need to send to your insurance injury adjustor.

  2. Through that assessment and AB-1 form, you will likely receive a diagnosis of WAD-1 or WAD-2.  This diagnosis allots either 11 or 21 visits to you, that must be used within 90 days of the accident.

  3. You have full control over your treatments.  We suggest keeping your last visit to see the practitioner who did the initial assessment, but otherwise, you get to choose which treatments work best for you:  acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic or physiotherapy.

  4. Upon completion of your 11/21 treatments, your primary assessor may request an extension to the protocol.  Alternately, you may be moved to “Section B”, which requires us to bill your private insurance first, with any uncovered portion submitted to the Accident adjustor.

The goal of the MVA protocol is to help you recover from any injuries quickly, and get you back to living your life with freedom and easier movement.  Please seek assistance early on after your accident.

Conditions from an MVA that we treat include:

 Whiplash, headaches, TMJ

 Concussion & post-concussion syndrome

Spinal pain and strain (cervical, thoracic and lumbar)
